Our first day in Prague began with finding
breakfast. We had to buy transport
tickets so we went to a random station and got off. We bought tickets and found a little café to
get some breakfast. Again, no eggs and
bacon, but it was delicious !-- not to mention beautiful.
Then we set off into the city.
Here are some pictures of the city.
Typical Prague street in old town |
Czech pastry- they put ice cream or other fillings in them like Nutella! (which is VERY POPULAR) |
Rachael and I on the old bridge |
View from the bridge |
Strange curvy building |
Astronomical Time piece |
Entrance to the old bridge |
Fence of Locks: People from all over the world leave locks on this fence with messages on them.
Love padlocks in Prague. Love padlocks (also known as Love Locks) are a custom by which padlocks are affixed to a fence, gate, bridge or similar public fixture by sweethearts to symbolize their everlasting love. |

Light lunch in Prague |
Stairway to Prague Castle--We got some cardio in ! |
Castle Guard- The Prime Minister actually lives here and works here. Thousands of tourists all around ! |
Prague Cathedral |
I thought this was strange. I understand lighting candles for prayers, but I think it gets a bit ridiculous when you pay for a fake candle. |
Tram |
Dinner at a cool restaurant in Prague where they have customers write messages on coasters and post them all over the walls ! |
They even make cosmetics out of beer ! |
Inside the castle |
"famous" sculpture. Everyone touches the penis so it gets shiny ! |
Prague Senate Building and grounds |
Amazing art work explained |
After the castle complex and senate building we decided to visit the Beer Geek, a place suggested by Lonely Planet. They have 32 craft beers on tap !
This soft drink is more popular than Coke or Pepsi in Czech Republic |
On the old bridge they had craft vendors. Apparently Prague is known for a specific type of art work.
We also checked out the McDonald's here to see what was on the menu !
